The main knish behind darkness is this that it is a scene or time in absence of light. The state where the cone cells of the eye and pupil are not stimulated due to lack of light.
Darkness is also categorized as a dark object has the characteristic of absorbing the photons which make it further darker. Thus night is the best absorbent of the photons and spread the impact on all the objects associated with it.
Poets have used darkness associated to evil and all the old biblical books refer it to plague and time of evil.
Movies have used this theme of dark and many blockbuster movies fall under this category. Many soaps and serials are also popular among the different channels using the same theme.
Singers use like Leonard Cohen use it to make a trademark of their style. He has sung about the darkness songs a well know singer who loved by all.
The tech industry is not far behind the others. Apple the computer giant used darkness as an interesting and famous application of IPhone by Bjango in which the advanced features are used for the timings of sunrise, noon and sunset of different cities of the world. The application is the hot commodity of the IPhone.
